Resolution Encouraging City Council to amend the “Resolution Creating the Ann Arbor Energy Commission”

Whereas, The Energy Commission was created in 1985 by City Council resolution R-552-1-85;
Whereas, The energy issues facing the City have evolved since the Commission’s creation and the Commission believes that its role should be modified to reflect this evolution;
RESOLVED, That the Energy Commission recommends that City Council modify the resolution that created the Energy Commission as follows:
Section (1)
Include no less than one council member liaison and that all members shall be appointed after consultation with the Commission Chair.
Section (4)
(a) Change “energy efficiency” to “energy and climate”.
(b) Change “municipal and community energy efficiency” to “municipal and community energy and climate” and add “in collaboration with the Environmental Commission” at the end of the paragraph.
(c) Change “energy production and efficiency projects” to “energy-related climate projects”.
(d) Change “energy production and efficiency projects” to “energy related climate projects”.
