Resolution to Approve Amendment #2 to the Professional Services Agreement between the City and DiClemente Siegel Design Inc. for Work Related to the Fire Station #1 Generator Replacement Project ($2,250.00)

Attached for your review and approval is Amendment #2 to the April 27, 2017 Professional Services Agreement between the City and DiClemente Siegel Design Inc. Amendment #2 adds $2,250.00 to the contract and covers additional structural redesign work for the proposed relocation of the emergency generator to the roof of the building. The original Professional Services Agreement of $44,800.00 was approved by City Council on April 3, 2017 and Amendment #1 to that Agreement for $6,700.00 was approved by City Council on September 18, 2017.
The additional engineering work on the project is necessary because of the generator being heavier than the original design load. In addition, the rooftop placement of the generator was shifted to the north to address noise concerns from the Washtenaw County dispatch operations located in the Fire Station.
Funding for Amendment #2 is available in the Fire Station #1 Generator Replacement project in the approved General Fund Capital Budget.
DiClemente Siegel Design Inc. complies with the requirements of the City’s Living Wage and Non-Discrimination Ordinances.

Whereas, The City entered into a Professional Services Agreement dated April 27, 2017 with DiClemente Siegel Design Inc. to complete engineering work for the Fire Station #1 Generator Replacement project;
Whereas, The scope and duration of the original project has necessarily changed and an amendment to add $2,250.00 to the Agreement is necessary;
Whereas, Funding for this amendment is available in the Fire Station #1 Generator Replacement project in the approved General Fund Capital Budget; and
Whereas, DiClemente Siegel Design Inc. complies with the requirements of the City’s Living Wage and Non-Discrimination Ordinances;
RESOLVED, That City Council approve Amendment #2 to the contract with DiClemente Siegel Design Inc., adding $2,250.00 for additional engineering services related to the Fire Station #1 Generator Replacement project;
RESOLVED, That the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized and directed to execute said contract after approval as to substance by the City Administrator and approval as to form by the City Attorney; and
RESOLVED, That the City Administrator be authorized to take all necessary actions to implement this resolution.
