Attached for your review and approval is a resolution to award a construction contract to Bailey Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $1,749,825.00 for the Crest, Buena Vista, Washington Water Main Replacement Project.
The Crest, Buena Vista, Washington Water Main Replacement Project will consist of the replacement of 4 inch and 6 inch water mains along Crest Avenue between Buena Vista Avenue and Huron Street, along Buena Vista Avenue between Crest Avenue and Washington Street, and along Washington Street between Crest Avenue and Seventh Street with 8 inch and 12 inch water main. The project also includes bump-outs along Washington, new sidewalk ramps, some curb and gutter replacement, drainage structure replacements, and street resurfacing.
Project plans and specifications were distributed electronically to contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers through the City of Ann Arbor's procurement website and MITN.info. Three bids were received and opened on March 2, 2018. The lowest responsible bid, from Bailey Excavating, Inc., in the amount of $1,749,825.00 was 7.8% below the Engineer's Estimate. Attached is a summary of the bids received for the project.
Bailey Excavating, Inc. has successfully completed similar work in the City of Ann Arbor in the past, and is able to meet the project requirements.
Bailey Excavating, Inc. has submitted all required Non-Discrimination, Prevailing Wage, Living Wage, and Conflict of Interest Disclosure forms and complies with the requirements of the City's Non-Discrimination and Living Wage ordinances.
Budget/Fiscal Impact
