Title
Resolution to Award a Construction Contract to RedZone Robotics Inc. for the Northside Interceptor Condition Assessment Project ($381,824.50, Bid No. ITB-4521)
Memorandum
Attached for your review and approval is a resolution to award a contract to RedZone Robotics Inc. in the amount of $381,824.50 for the Northside Interceptor Condition Assessment Project.

This project involves a multi-sensor inspection of the Northside Sanitary Sewer Interceptor. The Northside Interceptor consists of 19,000 feet of 78-inch sanitary sewer constructed in 1970. It conveys 50% of all sanitary sewage in the City and represents an important element of the City's overall infrastructure. Due to its location along the Huron River, it is critical to routinely inspect the condition of the sewer. Specialized inspection techniques including laser, sonar, video and gas detection will be utilized to provide a complete analysis of the sewer's condition.

In response to the Invitation to Bid (ITB-4521), one (1) bid was received on Thursday, February 1, 2018. The bid from RedZone Robotics Inc. of $381,824.50 is approximately $96,000.00 over the Engineer's Estimate. Due to the specialty nature of this work, receipt of a single qualified bidder is not a concern.

The inspection work is scheduled to begin in April of 2018, and to be completed in July of 2018.

Budget/Fiscal Impact
The current City of Ann Arbor Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) includes the Northside Interceptor Condition Assessment under project UT-SN-18-S2. Funding for the project is included in the approved Sewage Disposal System Capital Budget.

RedZone Robotics Inc. is in compliance with the requirements of the City's Non-Discrimination and Living Wage ordinances.
