Resolution to Appropriate the Downtown Development Authority's Contribution to the Liberty Street and Kerrytown Market Street Lighting Replacement Project ($150,038.00) (8 Votes Required)
Memorandum
On July 3, 2017, City Council passed #R-17-253 authorizing a construction contract to Corby Energy Services for the replacement of Street Lighting in Kerrytown Market and Liberty Street areas. To enable the project to be fully funded, the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) agreed to contribute approximately $150,038.00 towards the construction costs. This resolution seeks to appropriate their contribution of approximately $150,038.00 to the existing project budget.

As mentioned in #R-17-253, an agreement between the City of Ann Arbor and the Downtown Development Authority regarding the responsibilities and cost allocation for the project was to be prepared. The agreement has since been executed and indicates the City to be responsible for management and construction of the project; therefore, requires that the DDA contribution be allocated to the existing project budget. This allows for that funding to be available for contract-required payments.

The construction phase of the project is scheduled to begin this spring and is anticipated to be completed by early summer.
