Title
Resolution to Approve Amendment #1 to the Professional Services Agreement between the City and DiClemente Siegel Design Inc. for Work Related to the Fire Station #1 Generator Replacement Project ($6,700.00)
Memorandum
Attached for your review and approval is amendment #1 to the April 27, 2017 Professional Services Agreement between the City and DiClemente Siegel Design Inc. Amendment #1 is for $6,700.00 and covers additional engineering work needed to address structural and architectural design work for the proposed relocation of the emergency generator to the roof of the building. The original Professional Services Agreement of $44,800.00 was approved by City Council on April 3, 2017.
As engineering work on the project developed, it became apparent that the proposed new generator would be significantly larger than the older one being replaced based on the electrical load of the building. This size difference creates significant challenges to keep the new generator in the basement of the building because of physical size, noise levels and air movement (air intake and exhaust) issues. A rooftop installation, which was not in the initial scope of work for the engineer, created the need for the contract amendment.
Funding for Amendment #1 is available in the Fire Station #1 Generator Replacement project in the approved General Capital Fund Budget.
DiClemente Siegel Design Inc. complies with the requirements of the City's Living Wage and Non-Discrimination Ordinances.
