Memorandum
The attached resolution authorizes the purchase of one Trackless model MT7 Multi-purpose tractor with rear dump body, 51” snow blower, 60” sweeper broom, snow plow and salt/sand spreader at a total cost of $160,186.15 through the State of Michigan MiDeal cooperative purchasing contract #071B7700091 for use by the Public Services Area, Public Works Unit.

The multi-purpose tractor and accessories listed in this resolution will replace an existing 2004 Holder Tractor (#6790), rotary broom (#6336), snowplow (#6337), rear dump body (#6338), and salt/sand spreader (#6339). The tractor and accessories having unknown hours of use. The tractor is an articulated, four wheel drive machine with a narrow wheelbase used to remove heavy volumes of snow from walkways, paths, and bridge decks. The MT7 is the only piece of equipment within the fleet capable of moving the high volumes of snow and slush on narrow bridge decks and walkways.

Bell Equipment Inc., Lake Orion, Michigan was awarded contract #071B7700091 by the State of Michigan MiDeal cooperative purchasing program for Construction Equipment.

Adequate funding for the purchase of this equipment is available in the FY18 approved Fleet Services Fund budget and the approved FY18 Public Works Park and Public Space Maintenance General Fund budget.

Bell Equipment Inc. complies with the requirements of the City’s non-discrimination ordinance.
