The Ann Arbor Mile is an event for area residents to join in the kick off of Art Fair week in Ann Arbor and support the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, the Original, a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization.  The goals of the event are:

To continue with a competitive one mile race in Ann Arbor

To bring the Ann Arbor community together by having the run finish at the Townie Party, a community-wide event

To encourage businesses to have a "friendly competition" in the "Corporate Challenge."

2014 was the inaugural running of the Ann Arbor Mile, the Dart for Art. It will mark the 13th anniversary of the Townie Street Party, featuring the Kids’ Art Fair and the 58th anniversary of the Original Ann Arbor Art Fair.

Notification of the street closing will be provided through the City’s website and the Sponsor’s notification to electronic and print media no later than 14 days prior to the event.
