An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 55, Rezoning of 0.57 Acre from P (Parking District) to PUD (Planned Unit Development), Ann Arbor City Apartments, Southeast Corner of West Washington and South First Streets (CPC Recommendation: Approval - 7 Yeas and 0 Nays) (Ordinance No. ORD-08-37)
Memorandum
Approval of this ordinance will rezone the property at the southeast corner of West Washington and South First Streets to PUD to allow a 156-unit apartment building above a 244-space, four-level parking garage. The upper seven levels of the building will consist of private apartments, 16 of which will be affordable to those earning between 60 and 80 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI). Included with the PUD ordinance are supplemental regulations, which have been reviewed and found acceptable by the Attorney’s Office.
The City Planning Commission recommended approval of this request at its meeting of October 7, 2008. The PUD site plan for this proposal will be submitted for Council consideration at the same meeting as the public hearing and second reading for the PUD rezoning.
