Resolution Authorizing Summary Publication of Ordinance No. 08-33 - An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 47 (Streets) of Title IV of the Code of the City of Ann Arbor regarding the Ann Arbor Sidewalk Vendor Program

The attached resolution authorizes the summary publication of amendments to Chapter 47 of Title IV of the City Code. The City Charter contains provisions to allow summary publications of ordinances that are in excess of 500 words in length. The purpose of this resolution is to lessen the City's cost resulting from the required publication of the ordinance revisions.

Whereas, Section 7.4 of the City Charter authorizes the publication by summary of ordinances over 500 words in length;
RESOLVED, That the publication of Ordinance 08-33 shall be by the following summary:
Ordinance 08-33 amends Chapter 47 (Streets) of Title IV of the Code of the City of Ann Arbor by addressing the issues of motorized generator use, the abandonment of vendor carts, licensing requirements, leaving vendor carts unattended and affixed to stationary objects, the distance in which a vendor can sell his/her wares in direct competition with a business owner, impoundment if a vendor is found operating in violation change, and new application dates to coincide with the dates that the Washtenaw County Health Department issues permits for vendor carts.
