Resolution Authorizing Summary Publication of Ordinance No. 08-29 - An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 55 (Zoning) and Chapter 57 (Subdivision and Land Use Control) of Title V of the Code of the City of Ann Arbor regarding Citizen Participation
Memorandum
The attached resolution authorizes the summary publication of amendments to Chapters 55 and 57 of Title V of the City Code. The City Charter contains provisions to allow summary publications of ordinances that are in excess of 500 words in length. The purpose of this resolution is to lessen the City's cost resulting from the required publication of the ordinance revisions.

Whereas, Section 7.4 of the City Charter authorizes the publication by summary of ordinances over 500 words in length;
RESOLVED, That the publication of Ordinance 08-29 shall be by the following summary:
Ordinance 08-29 amends Chapter 55 (Zoning) and Chapter 57 (Subdivision and Land Use Control) of Title V of the Code of the City of Ann Arbor to require petitioners to provide additional written notice to the public, and to hold a meeting with the public, prior to submitting planned projects, planned unit developments, rezonings, and major site plans to the City for review. Petitioners are also required to provide a written report to the City summarizing notices provided and meetings held regarding a petition.
