Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of certain streets for the Big House/Big Heart Running Event on Sunday, September 28, 2008 from 12:00 Noon to 6:00 P.M. The following streets will be closed from 12:00 Noon to 6:00 P.M. for the race and cleanup:
Greene Street from Hill Street to the UM Stadium
S. State Street from Packard Street to Henry Street
Arch from S. State Street to White Street
Rose Ave. from S. State Street to White Street
Dewey Ave from S. State Street to White Street
McKinley Ave. from S. State Street to White Street
Sycamore Place from E. Park Place to White Street
White Street from Rose Ave. to Dewey Ave.
Granger Ave. from S. State Street to Sheehan Ave.
E. Hoover Street from S. State Street to Greene
S. Division Street from E. Hoover Street to E. Madison Street
E. Madison Street from S. Division Street to S. Fourth Ave.
John Street from S. Division Street to S. Fifth Ave.
S. Fifth Ave. from E. Madison Street to Hill Street

The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, and to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets.
The sponsor will mail written notice to all affected businesses, religious institutions and area residents not less than 14 days prior to the event.
The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.

Whereas, the sponsor has agreed to pay the cost of City services associated with the staging of this event; and
Whereas, The sponsor will mail written notice to all affected businesses, religious institutions and area residents not less than 14 days prior to the event;
