Resolution Approving DDA Bylaw Amendments
Memorandum
Since its inception the DDA has updated its bylaws every few years to ensure that the document clearly sets forward the details of its operation. Earlier this year DDA members recommended adding language clarifying the role of DDA officers and Executive Director, as well as the manner in which DDA officers are selected by the board. The DDA Research & Opportunity Committee formulated text that was reviewed by the DDA at its October and November 2007 meetings, and unanimously approved at its December 2007 meeting. The recommended text changes are shown in the attached document in red type.

Whereas, The DDA operates by a set of bylaws that were first approved in 1984 and
last amended in 2003;
Whereas, These bylaws may be amended at any regular meeting of the DDA Board by a majority vote, provided that the amendment was submitted in writing at a previous regular meeting;
Whereas, The DDA Research and Opportunity Committee set forward recommended bylaw amendments to the full DDA for their review and comment at the October and November 2007 DDA meetings;
Whereas, The DDA approved DDA bylaw amendments at their December meeting;
RESOLVED, The City Council approves DDA bylaw amendments as approved by the DDA.
