Resolution Authorizing Public Services Administrator Discretion to Revise Hours of Operation for the No Parking Tuesday Program
Memorandum
On December 3, 2007, Council approved removing the “No Parking Tuesday” Program parking restrictions from Martin Place as a result of a petition request of the residents. We surveyed the residents of the remaining streets in the program and several residents suggest adjusting the program hours of operation to minimize resident inconvenience while still meeting the service delivery objectives of the City. Their feedback is attached.
We would like to the opportunity to work closer with the residents to support their request, while continuing to meet the requirements of providing City services.
It is recommended that Council authorize the Public Services Administrator discretion to adjust the hours of the program, while taking into account the needs of the City to provide services, the needs of the residents to be able to park, and the allowable hours of operation, initially established by Council resolution.

Whereas, Council approved resolution R-07-590 on December 3, 2007, to remove Martin Place from the “No Parking Tuesday” Program;
Whereas, Staff surveyed the residents of the remaining streets in the program and suggestions were made to revise the hours of operations to minimize resident inconvenience while still meeting the service delivery objectives of the City;
Whereas, The current hours of operation are 8am to 6pm each Tuesday; and
Whereas, It is requested to authorize the Public Services Administrator discretion to adjust the hours of operation of this program taking into account the needs of the City to provide services and the needs of the residents to be able to park;
