Attached for your review and approval is a resolution which authorizes the purchase of 15 additional seats of Cityworks enterprise asset management software and the renewal of the Cityworks annual maintenance and support agreement with Azteca Systems.

Cityworks is a Geographical Information System (GIS) centric asset management system used for managing asset and maintenance activities by public works organizations. Cityworks uses a central database to create and track service requests and work orders based upon a customer request or preventative maintenance schedules for assets. The strength of Cityworks is that by being GIS centric, work can be managed on a geographical basis, allowing for productivity to be maximized by optimizing staff deployments and work orders by geographic vicinity instead of just task type.

Cityworks has been implemented within Public Services’ Call Center, Solid Waste, Systems Planning, Utilities Field Operations, Forestry Field Operations, Parks Field Operations, Transportation and Technical Services Units, as well as within Safety Services’ Community Standards. Additional implementation plans are in place for Streets Maintenance, Signs and Signals, and the Water Treatment Plant as well as a website for Citizens to request and track service requests.

The maintenance and support agreement includes technical support and periodic upgrades for Cityworks. The City’s current agreement with Azteca Systems includes 20 named (single seat) and 10 concurrent (floating) licenses and one web interface license.
