Memorandum

In 2014, HUD combined its Public Housing and Voucher Family Self Sufficiency funding and issued a joint Notice of Funding. The AAHC received enough funding between the two programs to fund 1.5 FTE's for the FSS program. In 2015, the AAHC was eligible for and applied for enough funding for 2 FTE's and was awarded $138,000 to fund 2 FTE's from Jan 1, 2016 through Dec 31, 2016.
The purpose of the FSS program is assist our tenants become self-sufficient by increasing earned income and financial literacy, reducing or eliminating the need for welfare assistance, and make progress toward economic independence and self-sufficiency. The AAHC has hired two Family Self Sufficiency and Supportive Services Coordinators to manage this program.
