Resolution to Approve Amendment #2 to the Professional Services Agreement with Hubbell Roth & Clark, Inc. for the Geddes Avenue Improvements Project ($232,328.00)
Memorandum
Approval of this resolution authorizing an amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Hubbell Roth & Clark, Inc (HRC) for construction staking services for the Geddes Avenue Improvements Project is recommended.

In February 2014, the City entered into an agreement with HRC for design engineering services for the Geddes Avenue Improvements Project. An amendment to the contract was approved on July 20, 2015, to include construction engineering services and part-time inspection.

Construction staking is the method by which design details are conveyed to the contractor to guide their work in the field. Location and elevation of each element of the project are transferred from the design drawings and marked in the field as reference for the installation of everything from sewers to sidewalks.

Initially, the Geddes project was to be staked using internal city staff. However, Project Management's assigned surveyor left the City in September of 2015. As the construction had already begun, HRC was asked to provide the 2015 staking. The proposed amendment includes the 2015 staking ($39,093.00) and also the staking for all of 2016 ($193,235.00). Once internal survey staffing has been settled, the City may opt to perform the remainder of the construction staking in house, and cancel the remaining portion of the construction staking work in HRC's contract.

This amendment would bring the total services amount with HRC for the Geddes Avenue Improvements Project to $931,931.00.

This additional work is proposed to be funded from the previously approved project budget in which sufficient funds exist.
