Whereas, Public Act 211 of 1972 authorizes the mayor of a city to solemnize a marriage;
Whereas, If a mayor of a city solemnizes a marriage, the mayor shall charge and collect a fee to be determined by the council of that city, which shall be paid to the city treasurer and deposited in the general fund of the city;
Whereas, It is necessary for the Ann Arbor City Council to establish the fee for solemnizing a marriage;
RESOLVED, That the fee for a marriage solemnized by the Mayor of the City of Ann Arbor pursuant to the provisions of Public Act 211 of 1972 be and the same hereby is set at Zero Dollars ($0.00) which shall be collected by the Mayor at the time of said solemnization and remitted to the City Treasurer for deposit in the General Fund of the City of Ann Arbor
