Resolution No. 3 - Establishing a Public Hearing for the Geddes Avenue Storm Water Special Assessment Project

Attached for your review and approval is Resolution No. 3 establishing the date for the Public Hearing on the Geddes Avenue Storm Water - Special Assessment, District No. 76, File No. 2013-037.
The improvement includes the installation of a new storm water management system consistent with the City's Green Streets Policy along Geddes Avenue between Huntington and Gallup Park. Because a majority of the storm water is generated within the City right-of-way (approximately 75%), and a minimal numbers of property front the project to be assessed. The cost to be assessed was greatly reduced from the project cost.

Whereas, The City Council had directed the City Assessor to prepare a Special Assessment Roll for the purpose of defraying part of the cost of the following described public improvement to be defrayed by Special Assessment: Construction of a storm water management system along Geddes Avenue between Huntington and Gallup Park, District No. 76, File No. 2013-037;
Whereas, The City Assessor has prepared said Special Assessment Roll and has the same on file in the Assessor's office with his certificate attached thereto; and
Whereas, The Michigan Tax Tribunal requires appearance and protest at the public hearing in order to appeal the amount of the special assessment, if an appeal should be desired;
RESOLVED, That said Special Assessment Roll be on file in the office of the City Assessor and shall be made available for public examination;
