Resolution to Approve Temporary Outdoor Sales, Service and Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages during the 2015 Ann Arbor Art Fair
Memorandum
The attached resolution would recommend approval of temporary outdoor service of alcoholic beverages during the Ann Arbor Art Fair for the businesses listed.
In accordance with the Administrative Rules of the Michigan Liquor Control Commission temporary outdoor service by an on-premises licensee requires approval of the local police and MLCC. In addition, if the temporary outdoor service area is located on property owned or under the control of the City, MLCC requires evidence of approval from the local governing body prior to approval by the MLCC.
All of the licensed establishments listed are approved by the Ann Arbor Police Services and recommended for approval by Council.
The approved recommendations will be forwarded to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission by the City Clerk for review and final approval.

Whereas, The Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) requires evidence of approval of City Council for occupation of any City owned or controlled property by an on-premises licensee as part of its application for temporary outdoor service;
Whereas, Applications have or will be submitted to the MLCC for temporary outdoor service during Art Fair by current on-premises liquor license holders;
Whereas, Each liquor licensed establishment applying for temporary outdoor service has been reviewed and approved by Ann Arbor Police Services; and
Whereas, The Sponsoring Associations of the Art Fair support approval of temporary outdoor service for their licensed members;
RESOLVED, That the request of the following liquor licensed establishments for temporary authorization for outdoor sales, service and consumption of alcoholic beverages during the 2015 Ann Arbor Art Fair to be held July 15-18, 2015, be approved within the defined areas filed with the Ann Arbor Police Services:
