Resolution to Approve Amendment #2 to the Professional Services Agreement with Widgery Studio, LLC ($365,262.00)
Memorandum
On June 16, 2014 Council passed Resolution R-14-205 (copy attached) that approved Amendment #1 to the Professional Services Agreement with Widgery Studio, LLC to design, fabricate, and install the Arbor Winds public art for the E. Stadium Boulevard Bridges Replacement Project. Since that time, through the design and engineering phase, staff has worked with the artist to verify the art and all its components are properly designed in accordance with all relevant engineering standards and will be installed in accordance with applicable City Standards.
On March 2, 2015 Council approved Resolution R-15-058 (copy attached) which appropriated an additional $40,000 in funding for the Arbor Winds artwork. The additional funding was necessary to include costs that were higher than originally anticipated for the foundations associated with the artwork and costs for needed electrical work to be performed by the City that will light the art during night time hours.
We come before you now to formally amend the Professional Services Agreement with Widgery Studio, LLC. This amendment reflects the increased costs of the final design of the foundations and other related work to be performed by the contractor. This amendment reflects an increase in the contract amount of $11,710.00.
Budget/Fiscal Impact
The work of this project is included in the amended project budget of $440,000.00. Funding to complete this work was approved by Council on March 2, 2015 via resolution R-15-058 as described above. There are no operational impacts with the approval of this resolution.
