Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of certain streets for the Shamrocks and Shenanigans 5K Run/Walk on March 8, 2015.

The event has been endorsed by Running Fit and Conor O'Neill's. The event will run from 8:45 AM to 11:00 AM and will require closing of the following streets from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM on March 8, 2015:

* S. Main from Washington to Stadium Blvd.
* Washington between S. First and Main Street
* S. First between W. Washington and East William
* East William between S. First and Main Street
* S. Ashley between William and West Jefferson
* West Jefferson between S. Ashley and S. Main Street

Streets will be reopened as soon as safely possible, but no later than 11:00 AM. Refreshments will be served to race participants in front of Conor O'Neill's. A speaker system will be used to start the race at 8:45 AM and music will be played around Conor O'Neill's for the event.

The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City and state regulations governing the use of the streets, and will reimburse the City for all event expenses. Conor O'Neill's will submit an application for approval from the State of Michigan Liquor Control Commission for temporary sales, service and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the defined areas pursuant to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission regulations.

Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City's website, posted flyers and social media. Conor O'Neill's will also notify the impacted business associations and neighborhood associations at least two weeks and one week prior to the event.
