Resolution to Approve a Contract with Game Time c/o Sinclair Recreation for Playground Improvements at Arbor Oaks, Scheffler and North Main Parks ($131,700.00)

Attached for your review and action is a resolution to approve a $131,700.00 contract with Sinclair Recreation to make improvements to playgrounds at Arbor Oaks, Scheffler and North Main Parks.
A goal of the Parks and Recreation Open Space Plan is to have a neighborhood park within a 1/4 mile of each residence. Arbor Oaks and Scheffler parks are both neighborhood parks that are in need of replacement play structures due to the condition of the equipment, and are noted in the CIP.
Public meetings were held for the Arbor Oaks and Scheffler Park projects, and the designs were informed by public input gathered at the meetings and through neighborhood surveys sent to all neighbors within 1/4 mile of the parks.
A tire swing and chess table are being added to North Main Park. The equipment and installation is being funded through a development contribution. The developer held a public meeting with the neighborhood and met with staff to determine appropriate improvements. These items were embraced by neighbors as a positive addition to the park.
The projects were bid together because they are similar in scope, all requiring similar construction type and materials as well as playground equipment. This also often results in better pricing, as there is a greater quantity of materials to be ordered.
Five bids were received by the City for this project in response to ITB 4330:
