Resolution to Close Washington Street for the Townie Street Party - Monday, July 14, 2014

Attached for your consideration is a request from the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair to close E. Washington Street between Fletcher Street and Thayer Street for the Townie Street Party on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. The sponsor has requested that the area be closed from 9:00 A.M. on Sunday, July 13, 2014 until the beginning of the Art Fair setup on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 7:00 A.M. to provide for equipment set-up time to stage the event and clean-up following the event.
The sponsor will submit an application for approval from the State of Michigan Liquor Control Commission for temporary sales, service and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the defined areas, pursuant to the MLCC regulations;
The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, and to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets.
Notification of the street closing will be provided through the City's website and through the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair's communications and website not less than 14 days prior to the event.
The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.
