Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of certain streets for the 2014 Take Back the Night (Rally and March) on Wednesday, April 2, 2014. The following streets will be closed as needed from 8:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. for the march and will be reopened as soon as possible after the march passes:

· E. Madison Street from S. State Street to Thompson Street
· Thompson Street from E. Madison Street to E. William Street
· E. William Street from Thompson Street to S. Fourth Ave.
· S. Fourth Ave. from William to E. Liberty
· E. Liberty Street from S. Fourth Ave. to S. State Street
· S. State Street from Liberty to E. Madison Street

The sponsors, Central Student Government, Ann Arbor Tortilla Factory, and Peter Breese, LSA, School of Social Work, agree to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.

The sponsors will notify impacted businesses and residents along the route by volunteers contacting them with flyers to be distributed one week prior to the event. The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.
