Resolution to Accept an Easement for Water Main from the University of Michigan (2850 South Industrial Highway) (8 Votes Required)
Memorandum
There is a resolution before you to accept an easement from the University of Michigan for the construction of a new water main at 2850 South Industrial Highway. This new water main is needed in connection with the construction of a bus storage facility at the adjacent AATA headquarters at 2700 South Industrial Highway.
The terms and conditions of the grant of easement have been reviewed and approved by the Project Management Unit of the Public Services Area. The easement is conveyed without cost to the City.
The University of Michigan has granted an easement to the City, subject to City Council approval.
Acceptance of the grant of easement is recommended.

Whereas, The University of Michigan, a Michigan Constitutional corporation, is the owner of property commonly known as 2850 South Industrial Highway, described in Liber 3030, Page 989 of Deeds, Washtenaw County, Michigan, located in the City of Ann Arbor, County of Washtenaw, State of Michigan; and
Whereas, the University of Michigan has executed and delivered an easement for the purpose of constructing, repairing, maintaining and replacing water main in, under or through that portion of its property , being more particularly described as:
Commencing at the Southeasterly corner of Lot 21 “deKoning Subdivision”, a subdivision of part of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 4, T3S, R6E, City of Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan as recorded in Liber 21 of Plats, Pages 63 through 69 inclusive, Washtenaw County Records; thence S87°43’00”W 274.49 feet along the Southerly line of said Lot 21 to the POINT OF BEGINNING; thence S02°08’19”E 31.31 feet; thence S87°43’00”W 40.00 feet; thence N02°08’19”W 31.31 fee...
