Resolution to Reestablish City's Mutually Beneficial Committee as the Joint DDA-Council Committee

Whereas, City Council Resolution R-11-522 dissolved the Mutually Beneficial Committee on December 5, 2011;
Whereas, City Council and the Downtown Development Authority have discussed ordinance changes, budget priorities, and other policy initiatives;
Whereas, It is in the public interest that the DDA and the City Council work together for the continued improvement and development of downtown;
RESOLVED, That the Joint DDA-Council Committee be hereby reestablished and meet commencing immediately with the DDA;
RESOLVED, That the Joint DDA-Council Committee is hereby directed to work with the City Staff, DDA committee members and provide the City Council with a proposed amendment to Chapter 7 of the City Code (the DDA ordinance) and any other pertinent documents in accordance with the attached process outline;
RESOLVED, That the City's Joint DDA Council Committee shall report periodically on the ongoing discussion at meetings of the City Council;
RESOLVED, That the City Administrator will direct City staff to work jointly with the DDA's staff to craft a proposed final draft ordinance amendment and amendments to any other pertinent documents under the direction of the Joint DDA Council Committee; and
RESOLVED, That the City Council appoint Councilmembers Kunselman, Petersen, Taylor and Lumm to the City's Joint DDA Council Committee.
