Title
Resolution to Approve Emergency Increase to the Advanced Tree Care Purchase Order by $25,000.00
Memorandum
Field Operations competitively bid Emergency Tree Services (IBT-4118) in August 2010. Advanced Tree Care and Greenstreet were the successful bidders.

The heavy snow event of February 27, 2013 caused significant tree damage city wide that necessitated utilizing additional resources for emergency tree work. Advanced Tree Care was responsive to the City’s request and began working to clear hazardous hanging branches and storm debris in conjunction with City Forestry crews beginning on February 27, 2013. Due to the severity and magnitude of the damage and debris, the original purchasing authority of $24,999.00 was exhausted.

Field Operations submitted and emergency purchase order increase request to the City Administrator that was granted on March 14, 2013. As required by City Code 1:316, the reporting/approval for the emergency authorization is being reported.

Advanced Tree Care received contract compliance approval on February 21, 2013 and Living Wage approval on June 7, 2013.

Funds are available in the Public Services Area, Field Operations Service Unit, Stormwater and Solid Waste Fund FY13 operation and maintenance budgets.
