Resolution to Approve the Muslim Community Association (MCA) Community Carnival, August 26, 2012
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a request from the Muslim Community Association (MCA) for a carnival to be held on Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 6:00 AM until 9:00 PM at Southeast Park.
The purpose of this event is to provide a venue for the community to come together in a local public park and enjoy a day with friends and family. This event is organized by the Sisters group at MCA, a non-profit organization, and will be open to the public to mark the end of the month of fasting and celebrate a day of "community of diverse cultures with shared value" living in the greater Ann Arbor area.
The sponsor, MCA, agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the park and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
