Resolution to Close North Fourth Avenue for the OutFest: Celebration - September 29, 2012
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of North Fourth Avenue between East Kingsley Street and Catherine from 4:30 PM on Saturday, September 29, 2012 to 12:00 AM on Sunday, September 30, 2012 for the OutFest Celebration. The hours for the actual event will be from 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM. This event, sponsored by the Jim Toy Community Center, will observe National Coming Out Day and diversity in the Ann Arbor community. The event will be a combination of food, entertainment and celebration.
The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
This event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and general public.

Whereas, The City has received a request from the Jim Toy Community Center to close North Fourth Avenue between East Kingsley Street and Catherine from 4:30 PM on Saturday, September 29, 2012 to 12:00 AM on Sunday, September 30, 2012;
Whereas, The closing is requested for events associated with National Coming Out Day;
Whereas, The street closures will be signed, barricaded and properly supervised by the sponsor; and
