Attached for your consideration is a resolution to close additional streets for the Plumbers and Pipefitters 5K on Monday, August 13, 2012
The sponsor, the Ann Arbor Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, has requested that in addition to the closings previously approved on April 2, 2012 (R-12-125) for the 2012 UA Block Party, Council also approve the closing of additional streets from 6:00 - 8:00 PM for the running of the Plumbers and Pipefitters 5K.
The following streets have been previously approved for closure:
· S. Main Street between William and Huron Streets
· Liberty and Washington Streets between Ashley Street and S. Fourth Avenue
Approval is sought for the following additional closures:
· Extend Liberty closure from Main Street to State
· State Street between North University and Washington
· North University - Northern/west bound lanes
· (Fletcher to remain open. Runners directed to sidewalks.)
· Washington - Southern/east bound lanes
Notification of the street closings related to this event will be provided through the City’s website.

Whereas, The City has received a request from the sponsor to close additional streets for the UA Block Party/Plumbers and Pipefitters 5K on Monday, August 13, 2012;
Whereas, The closing of additional streets will allow for the running of the Plumbers and Pipefitters 5K;
Whereas, The additional street closures will be signed, barricaded and properly supervised; and
Whereas, Notification of the street closings related to this event will be provided through the City’s website;
RESOLVED, That City Council approves the closing of the following streets from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, August 13, 2012:
