Body
Whereas, The Washtenaw Health Initiative (WHI) is a voluntary, county-wide collaboration of local leaders focused on how to make health care more accessible and improve care coordination for the low-income, uninsured, and Medicaid populations in Washtenaw County by identifying and, where possible, addressing gaps;

Whereas, The Initiative is focused both on today and preparing for 2014, when provisions of federal health care reform are expected to go into effect;

Whereas, Pursuing voluntary charter membership in the WHI is closely related to previous City efforts;

Whereas, A membership fee of $10,000.00 in FY13 will be funded through the Office of Community Development and funding for a membership of $10,000.00 will be considered for FY14;

Whereas, Additional funding in the amount of $10,000.00 needs to be appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of Community Developmentā€™s FY13 budget for this membership fee;

RESOLVED, That the Ann Arbor City Council hereby approve the Washtenaw Health Initiative (WHI) Charter 2012 Statement of Commitment and authorizes the Mayor of the City of Ann Arbor to sign the Charter, making the City of Ann Arbor a Voluntary Charter Member ...
