Memorandum
The attached resolution requests authorization for a 12 month contract for services with Governmental Consultant Services, Inc. (GCSI) for lobbying services in the amount of $48,000.00 for fiscal year 2012/2013.

GCSI's current contract for services expires on June 30, 2012. GCSI has done an outstanding job for the last ten years communicating issues currently pending before the legislature. GCSI has provided excellent work in the areas of legislation monitoring along with advocating fire protection grants and comprehensive corridor planning. It is in the City's best interest to continue to retain the services of GCSI.

Funds for this contract are included in the FY 2012/2013 Administrator's Office budget. GCSI received Human Rights approval on June 6, 2012 and complies with the provisions of the City’s living wage ordinance.

Whereas, In 2001, City Council sought proposals for the provision of lobbying services for the City and awarded a one-year contract to Governmental Consultant Services, Inc. (GCSI) which under the terms of the contract provided for two six-month service periods;

Whereas, GCSI's contract for services expires on June 30, 2012;

Whereas, GCSI has done an outstanding job for the past ten years of communicating issues currently pending before the legislature;

Whereas, Funds for this contract are included in the Administrator's Office FY 2012/2013 budget; and
