Memorandum
Attached is a resolution to approve the request from Bill’s Beer Garden, L.L.C. to transfer the ownership and location of a 2011 Class C Liquor Licensed Business, from Pizza Hut of America, Inc. currently located at 3045 Carpenter Rd. in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to 218 S. Ashley in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The applicant is also requesting that a Dance-Entertainment Permit, a new SDM Liquor License and an Outdoor Service Area be held in conjunction of the Class C Liquor License.
The applicant plans to run the establishment by serving primarily beer, wine, and hard cider. It will be open from 5-11 p.m. most days (St. Patrick’s Day through Christmas), possible afternoon hours on football Saturdays, Art Fair week and special downtown events. Bill’s Beer Garden is considered to be a family-friendly townie hang out, with cribbage boards, trivia night, and soft drinks for kids.
The Police, Planning and Development, Treasurer, Fire Services and the Council Liquor License Review Committee approved the application. There are no delinquent property taxes, all application fees are paid, and there are no objections from City Staff.
