Resolution to Approve the Purchase of Water Meters and Water Meter Supplies from Midwest Municipal Instrumentation, Inc. ($50,000.00)
Memorandum
Attached is a resolution to authorize a purchase order in the amount of $50,000.00 to Midwest Municipal Instrumentation, Inc. Midwest Municipal Instrumentation, Inc., is the sole Michigan distributor for the Aquamaster water meters. Elster AMCO Water, Inc., our former vendor no longer has the distributorship for Michigan.
Midwest Municipal Instrumentation, Inc. is able to provide the City with absolute encoded meters, digital register meters and electronic meters. The Aquamaster meters make up our entire inventory for these types of meters. The water meters and water meter supplies will be used for the operations and maintenance requirements for new meter accounts or to replace non-warranty meters. The purchase order will allow the city to have a modest meter inventory for O&M purposes.
Sufficient funds are available in the approved FY12 and the proposed FY13 Public Services Area, Field Operations Unit, Water Supply System ($35,000.00) and Sewage Disposal System ($15,000.00) operating budgets.
