The attached resolution seeks authorization to renew Broadcom/VMware software maintenance and technical support from CDW Government LLC until June 2030 for a total cost of $307,625.00.
Budget/Fiscal Impact: This expenditure is planned for and budgeted in the FY2025 and FY2026 Information Technology Services Fund budgets, with plans to budget for it in FY2027, FY2028, and FY2029 Information Technology Services Fund budgets at a cost of $61,525.00 annually.
The City of Ann Arbor received this quote through MiDEAL.
This purchase seeks to maintain technical support and software maintenance for the City's VMware computing infrastructure that hosts most City services.

Whereas, The City of Ann Arbor requires that VMware support and maintenance be purchased to operate the City's network computing environment and to enhance the level of City service delivery;
Whereas, Funding for these expenditures is in the FY2025 and FY2026 Information Technology Budget and is planned to be included in FY2027, FY2028, and FY2029 Information Technology Fund Budgets;
Whereas, the Dell servers provide key services to the City of Ann Arbor data center and this purchase was procured through the MiDEAL cooperative purchasing arrangement in accordance with City Code section 1:316(2); and
Whereas, CDW Government LLC complies with the requirements of the City's Non-Discrimination and Living Wage Ordinances;
RESOLVED, That City Council approve the purchase of VMware technical support and software maintenance from CDW Government LLC for three years, pursuant to the attached quote, for a total of $307,625.00;
