Resolution No. 3 Establishing a Public Hearing for the Barton Drive Water Main Replacement and Resurfacing Project Special Assessment (District 55 - Brede to Pontiac)

Attached for your review and approval is Resolution No. 3 establishing the date for the Public Hearing on the Barton Drive Water Main Replacement & Resurfacing Project Special Assessment District No. 55, File No. 20-0067.
The improvement includes a replacement sidewalk in conjunction with a water main replacement and resurfacing project along Barton Drive. Six properties are located within the special assessment district. The Barton Drive Water Main Replacement and Resurfacing Project included the construction of new sidewalks along the north side of Barton Drive from Brede Place to Pontiac Trail. This feature was included in the Capital Improvement Plan for this project, as well as being in the Non-Motorized plan and having a high priority in the Sidewalk Gap Prioritization.

Whereas, The City Council had directed the City Assessor to prepare a Special Assessment Roll for the purpose of defraying that part of the cost of the following described public improvement to be defrayed by Special Assessment: Construction of a new sidewalk system along the north side of Barton Drive from Brede Place to Pontiac Trail, known as Barton Drive Water Main Replacement & Resurfacing Project Special Assessment District No. 55, File No. 20-0067;
Whereas, The City Assessor has prepared said Special Assessment Roll and has the same on file in the Assessor's office with his certificate attached thereto; and
Whereas, The Michigan Tax Tribunal requires appearance and protest at the public hearing in order to appeal the amount of the special assessment, if an appeal should be desired;
