Resolution Authorizing Sanitary Sewer and Water Improvement Charges for 582 Archwood Dr. ($14,756.12)
Memorandum
Your approval is requested to levy sanitary sewer and water improvement charges totaling $14,756.12 on the property known as 582 Archwood Dr. This previously vacant parcel was annexed prior to 1997.
City of Ann Arbor Code section 1:278(6), Chapter 12, requires that the property owner pay the property's share of the existing utilities through an improvement charge levy. The $14,756.12 Utilities Improvement Charge is to be levied and then made payable in 13 annual installments. The sanitary sewer portion will accrue interest at 3.393% interest per annum on the unpaid balance. The water main portion will accrue interest at 2.999% interest per annum on the unpaid balance.
The sanitary sewer main in Archwood Dr. was constructed by the City in 1962. The water main in Archwood Dr. was constructed by the City in 1962.
It is therefore recommended that Council levy these improvement charges according to the terms described above.
