Memorandum

Ordinance 25-08 was approved by City Council on April 21, 2025. The City Charter allows summary publication of ordinances that are in excess of 500 words in length upon approval by City Council. Summary publication is appropriate due to the cost of publication and length of the ordinance. The ordinance will also be available publicly online.

RESOLVED, That the publication of Ordinance 25-08 shall be made by the following summary: 

 

Ordinance 25-08 amends the Unified Development Code (Chapter 55) to remove the use specific standards related to General Entertainment uses, which limit the capacity of enclosed theatres in the C1B district and restrict the districts where pinball parlors are permitted. Theaters of any capacity and pinball parlors are permitted wherever General Entertainment uses are permitted.

 

The effective date of Ordinance 25-08 is 10 days after publication. A complete text of this ordinance is available for inspection at the City Clerk’s office on the second floor of the Guy C. Larcom Municipal Building, 301 East Huron Street, Ann Arbor or at <http://www.a2gov.org>
