Title
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH DREEMWEAVER CONCEPTS LLC TO DESIGN, FABRICATE and INSTALL "SEEDS TO STREETS" KERRYTOWN WAYFINDING
Memorandum
DDA staff recommends the Board approve a professional services agreement with Dreemweaver Concepts LLC, in the amount of $150,000, to design, fabricate, and install "Seeds to Streets" Kerrytown Wayfinding interventions from the Ann/Ashley Parking Structure to the Farmers Market in Kerrytown. Installations will include solar lighting, a parking garage fa?ade installation, and ground-level murals.
Background & Selection
Dreemweaver Concepts LLC responded to a nationwide Kerrytown Wayfinding Call for Art, coordinated by the Ann Arbor Art Center. 124 submissions were received. The Ann Arbor Art Center advanced ten proposals based on artist experience, application requirements, and feasibility, to be reviewed and ranked by a selection committee. The committee included a representative from the Farmers Market, the Office of Organizational Equity, City Public Services, the Kerrytown District Association, the Public Arts Commission, the Housing Commission, Community High School, and DDA staff. Reviewers' criteria included both Elevate Program and specific wayfinding project goals. The Dreemweaver Concepts' proposal was ranked highest through two rounds of review. Following the selection process, the DDA Board discussed the Seeds to Streets concept at the January 2025 Work Session.
Final Contract
To refine the design concept and increase installation longevity, DDA staff and the A2 Art Center team asked the selection committee to prioritize the proposed wayfinding elements. See the Final Design Guidance document for the priority elements, which includes emphasis on parking structure art and solar lamps, as well as a focused set of ground murals. The final contract amount aligns with the anticipated project cost. The contract content was reviewed by both City and DDA attorneys.
