Memorandum
Attached for City Council’s review and action is a resolution approving a sole source purchase order with Traffic Control Products for Miovision Detection System products for use by the Transportation Department during FY2027, in the amount of $90,000.00.

The Miovision Detection Pro System supports multimodal detection, multimodal counts and near miss accidents at signalized intersections.

Traffic Control Products has provided City staff with the opportunity to evaluate the Miovision Detection Pro System at the intersection of Stadium Boulevard and St. Francis Street. Following the evaluation, Transportation staff have been impressed with the system’s performance, functionality, and overall capabilities. Staff have also been pleased with the level of customer service and support provided by Traffic Control Products to date.

Traffic Control Products is the sole entity authorized to distribute Miovision products in Michigan. Accordingly, Traffic Control Products is uniquely qualified to provide the Miovision products required by the City.

Sole source purchases of goods over $25,000.00 require Council approval.

Traffic Control Products complies with the requirements of the City’s non-discrimination and living wage ordinances.

Budget/Fiscal Impact: Funding for this purchase is available in the approved Major Streets Fund Transportation budget.
