Memorandum
Ordinance 24-31 was approved by City Council on January 6, 2025. The City Charter allows summary publication of ordinances that are in excess of 500 words in length upon approval by City Council. Summary publication is appropriate due to the cost of publication and length of the ordinance. The ordinance will also be available publicly online.

RESOLVED, That the publication of Ordinance 24-31 shall be made by the following summary:

Ordinance 24-31 amends the Unified Development Code (Chapter 55) to: revise and reorganize the standards for fences in residential and nonresidential districts, applying restrictions on electrified and sharp points in residential districts, increasing the maximum opacity permitted in residential district side yards, and decreasing the maximum height in nonresidential districts beyond the front setback line; revise the fee reimbursement formula for developments that provide affordable housing to be in proportion to the percentage of affordable housing that is provided; and to revise the definition of public utility and add a definition for private or franchise utility so each definition matches other city specifications, as well as clarifying which utility when used throughout the code.
