Resolution to Approve the 1146 South Maple Annexation, 1.2 Acres, 1146 South Maple Road
Memorandum
Approval of this resolution will allow annexation of this property from Scio Township into the City. The property is within the City's water and sewer service area, and the current use is consistent with the adjacent zoning, land uses and comprehensive plan. Council action on the proposed PUD (Planned Unit Development District) zoning and site plan will be scheduled after the annexation process is complete.

The PUD Site Plan and PUD Zoning will be scheduled for City Council after Planning Commission action. The Site Plan is still under review by City Staff.

Planning staff recommends approval of this annexation.

Whereas, The territory hereinafter described is located in the Township of Scio and is adjacent to the corporate limits of the City of Ann Arbor;

Whereas, City of Ann Arbor is the owner of said property;

Whereas, It is the desire of City of Ann Arbor to annex said territory to the City of Ann Arbor, pursuant to the provisions of Public Act 279 of 1909 or Public Act 359 of 1947 of the State of Michigan, as amended;

Whereas, City Staff has reviewed the Annexation application and approves the request because the property is within the City's utility service area and the proposed PUD zoning will be consistent with nearby City zoning, surrounding land uses and the adopted Land Use Plan;

Whereas, The City of Ann Arbor will sell said property to Avalon Housing, Inc. for the construction of Hickory Way III an affordable housing development;

Whereas, Avalon Housing has submitted a PUD zoning and site plan that is currently under review by Staff; and
