Title
Resolution to Approve a Sole Source Purchase Order with Andritz Separation Inc. for the Purchase, Programming and Installation of Three Variable Frequency Drives for Centrifuges at the Water Resource Recovery Facility ($69,989.00)
Memorandum
Your approval is requested to authorize the sole source purchase order with Andritz Separation Inc. for the purchase, programming and installation of three Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for centrifuges at the Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) in the amount of $69,989.00.

The centrifuges are used 5-7days a week to dewater excess process sludge at the WRRF which is integral to the compliance of our National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. The VFDs control the speed of the centrifuge motors which is essential to the sludge dewatering process. Of the three VFDs being replaced one has failed and two are at the end of their useful life. VFDs of this size have a typical life span of 8-12 years and the current VFDs were put into service in 2012.

Andritz Separation Inc. is a sole source provider of Andritz equipment for all replacement parts, accessories, proprietary control system logic and services. The WRRF's Centrifuges were manufactured by Andritz Separation Inc.

It is recommended that City Council approve a sole source purchase order for Andritz Separation Inc. for the purchase, programming and installation of three VFDs at the WRRF.

Budget/Fiscal Impact: Funds to finance this purchase are included in the approved FY25 WRRF Operations and Maintenance budget of the Sewage Disposal System Fund. City Charter language requires sole source goods procurement over $25,000.00 receive City Council approval.
