Memorandum
Council approved purchase of this land on September 2, 2025 (R-25-322) for parkland purposes with funds from the Open Space and Parkland Preservation Millage. The City completed the purchase from Julius W. Van Dyck-Dobos on December 15, 2025. The parcel is a vacant Ann Arbor Charter Township island adjacent to City-owned parkland (Furstenberg Nature Area).
MCL 117.9(8) allows for annexation of land to the City of Ann Arbor by City Council resolution if the land to be annexed is owned by the City, adjacent to the City, and consists of a park or vacant property with no one residing therein.

Whereas, The City of Ann Arbor owns vacant land on Fuller Road in Ann Arbor Charter Township adjacent to Furstenberg Nature Area;
Whereas, The City wishes to annex the property and include it as part of the park system; and
Whereas, Section 9 of the Michigan Home Rule City Act (MCL 117.9(8)) allows for annexation of land to the City of Ann Arbor by City Council resolution if the land to be annexed is owned by the City, adjacent to the City, and consists of a park or vacant property with no one residing therein;
RESOLVED, That the City of Ann Arbor hereby annexes the following described parcel from Ann Arbor Charter Township to the City of Ann Arbor:
Commencing at the East 1/4 corner of Section 27, Town 2 South, Range 6 East, Ann Arbor Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan; thence North 01 degrees 05 minutes West 52.45 feet along the East line of said Section 27; thence South 33 degrees 48 minutes West 669.26 feet to the centerline of Fuller Road; thence along the centerline of Fuller Road North 56 degrees 53 minutes West 117.65 feet; thence continuing along said centerline...
