Title
Resolution to Approve a Grant Agreement with the James L. Crawford Elks Lodge #322 ($200,630.00)
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a one-time grant agreement with the James L Crawford Elks Lodge #322 that provides a contribution from the City towards the restoration and repair of the Crawford Elks Lodge as an A200 Legacy Project. This Legacy Project will invest in and improve accessibility for historically disenfranchised and marginalized populations in Ann Arbor.
An initial $100,000.00 contribution to the Elks Lodge Legacy Project was contemplated as part of the original Bicentennial celebration budget. R-24-449, passed by City Council on December 16, 2024, reallocated $100,000.00 of the funding set aside for the overall Bicentennial celebration to this Legacy Project, bringing the total contribution to $200,000.00. Additionally, the Bicentennial closing event generated ticket sales for the event and fifty percent (50%) of the ticket sale proceeds are being provided towards the Elks Lodge Legacy Project in the amount of $630.00.
Budget/Fiscal Impact: The funds for this one-time grant agreement are available in the FY25 General Fund budget.
