Attached for your approval is a resolution to award construction contracts to True North Asphalt and CB Asphalt Paving to perform street cut and miscellaneous pavement repairs for approximately to $250,000.00 each per fiscal year for two years. These contracts are used to perform permanent asphalt repairs for utility excavations, path maintenance, parking lots, and major and local road deficiencies.
ITB-4624 was advertised on the City's Website and on the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network (MITN) website. Six (6) bids were received and publicly opened on April 16, 2020. True North Asphalt and CB Asphalt Paving were the lowest responsible bidders for street cut and miscellaneous pavement repairs. Two firms are being selected to enable the City to perform more repairs simultaneously and have flexibility in scheduling and managing demand.

Budget Impact: Funding is available in the approved FY 21 Public Works and Parks and Recreation's operations and maintenance budgets and will be available in subsequent budgets if approved by Council. Costs will be allocated to the appropriate funding source based on the individual tasks performed under this contract.
Both True North Asphalt and CB Asphalt Paving comply with the City's Non-Discrimination and Living Wage ordinances.
