An Ordinance to Amend Section 1:207 of Chapter 8 (Boards and Commissions) of Title I of City Code (ORD-25-30)
Memorandum
In line with staff efforts to improve traffic crash reporting and formulate effective solutions to prevent future crashes, this amendment adds a duty for the Transportation Commission to consider crash information when making recommendations to the City.
City transportation and safety services staff convene regularly to review traffic crashes in the City to determine causes and solutions to prevent future crashes. Staff make regular reports and recommendations to the Transportation Commission regarding crashes for this purpose. This amendment adds an express duty for the Transportation Commission to consider those staff reports and recommendations pertaining to crashes when advising on safety related programs and projects.
The Transportation Commission approved this change at the September 17, 2025 meeting.
