Memorandum
Attached for your review and consideration is a resolution to approve a construction contract in the amount of $50,200.00 with 10% contingency for a total budget of $55,220.00 to replace the roof of Fire Station #6.

The contract includes complete roof replacement for Fire Station #6, which has exceeded its expected lifespan and is experiencing multiple leaks from weather and age related deterioration.

Bid documents were advertised on MITN BidNet. Nine contractors submitted bids for the project ranging from $50,200.00 to $87,716.00. A tabulation of the bids is summarized on the attached Bid Tabulation sheet. Staff is recommending that the construction contract for the roof replacement be awarded to Four Seasons Roofing & Sheet Metal, LLC.

The resolution includes a recommended construction contingency of $5,020.00 (approximately 10%) to cover potential contract change orders to be approved by the City Administrator for a $55,220.00 total construction project budget.

Four Seasons Roofing & Sheet Metal, LLC meets the living wage and prevailing wage requirements and received Human Rights approval on May 13, 2010.
