Memorandum
This resolution seeks City Council acceptance of a $483,000.00 grant from the Michigan State Police (MSP), Grants and Community Services Division, for establishing a community-based crisis response program (the Grant) and approval of the Community-Based Crisis Response Pilot Grant Contract with the MSP (the Grant Agreement).

Representative Jason Morgan secured the Grant from the MSP. Pursuant to the terms of the Grant Agreement, the City will be awarded a total maximum allocation of $483,000.00, for the reimbursement of authorized expenditures. The Grant shall be utilized solely for the purpose of supporting a new or existing community-based crisis response program. The Grant funds must be expended by the end of the four-year performance period of the Agreement. The City is required to provide a 25% match of all grant funds expended.

It is anticipated that up to 2.0 FTEs may be hired with these funds. Their employment shall be subject to available funding at the end of the of grant.

Budget/Fiscal Impact: Funding for the 25% match is available in the FY25 General Fund Budget from the Marijuana Excise Tax funds for acceptance of this grant award.
